This website has been set up to provide those interested in Thomas Hardy with an insight into some of his miscellanea and the world built around him and his characters. It is not intended to discuss any analysis of his works (as there are there are many books and resources far more suited to that activity). It is a dedication to his life as a person, whether through a photographic album of his own life, or through the locations from his novels and poems. A second aim is to provide high quality and informative photographs of his Wessex world as it now in the 21st Century compared to its 19th Century novelistic and poetic character. This site is is an admiration of one of England's finest novelists and poets.

This site will detail his family history and properties, the Hardy Cottage at Higher Bockhampton, Stinsford Church where Hardy went and where his heart was buried, Max Gate his final home on the outskirts of Dorchester and some of the properties he stayed at during his early life as an architect and writer. Details of some of his very close friends and influences T E Lawrence, Horace Moule, Sir Arthur Blomfield, Florence Henniker and Martha Brown.
